Normally, the inductors of the multilayer structure will be chip beads that work as the EMI filter. However, for some applications, due to the dimensional limitation, the customer also chooses a multilayer product that works as an inductor. At high frequencies, such as GHz, the raw material for the core body will be ceramic. In some cases, the customer will use the multilayer chip inductor in the applications of DC-DC, where no high current passes through. However, due to the technological advances, the design engineer will need a product that has a small dimension but can carry a high current.
