A toroidal choke inductor is an electronic component that is designed to filter or suppress common-mode noise in electrical circuits by providing a high impedance path to the common-mode current while allowing the desired differential mode current to pass through with minimal impedance.
The applications for this toroidal choke inductor are for power adapters, DC-DC converters, or AC-DC converters, for example. The insulation between two windings normally will be 1.5 kV at a minimum. The core used on the pin-type of toroidal choke inductor will be manganese zinc and nanocrystal core to achieve a higher inductance value and lower DC resistance.
